     Lt.-Col. George Henry Grey was born on 21 March 1835.2 He was the son of Sir George Grey, 2nd Bt. and Anna Sophia Ryder.2 He married Harriet Jane Pearson, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Pearson and Jane Eccles, on 20 November 1860.2 He died on 11 December 1874 at age 39.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Northumberland Militia.2 He was Equerry to Prince of Wales.2
