     Colonel Lord John Pakenham Joicey-Cecil was born on 3 March 1867.1 He was the son of William Alleyne Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Exeter and Lady Georgina Sophia Pakenham.1 He married Isabella Maud Joicey, daughter of Colonel John Joicey, on 15 September 1896.1 He died on 25 June 1942 at age 75.1
     He was given the name of John Pakenham Cecil at birth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards.1 In 1898 his name was legally changed to John Pakenham Joicey-Cecil by Royal Licence.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 8th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 1st Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the Soke of Peterborough.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Stamford between 1906 and 1910.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Royal Defence Corps.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.1 He lived at Highfield, Andover, Hampshire, England.2

     From 15 September 1896, her married name became Joicey-Cecil.1
