     Sir William Seeds was born on 27 June 1882.2 He was the son of Robert Seeds.1 He married Arabella Agnes Muriel Butler, daughter of Theobald Butler and Elizabeth Bailey, on 17 October 1911.1 He died on 2 November 1973 at age 91.1
     He was with HM Diplomatic Service between 1904 and 1940.2 He was British High Commissioner in the Rhineland between 1928 and 1930.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1930.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Brazil between 1930 and 1935.1 He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.S.R. between 1939 and 1940.1
