     Richard Townsend was the son of Thomas Townsend and Martha Uniacke.^1,2 He married, firstly, Katherine Mackinnon, daughter of J. Mackinnon, on 4 July 1826.² He married, secondly, Mary Catherine Newman, daughter of Adam Newman, on 22 September 1829.¹ He died before 26 April 1848, when his widow remarried.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)²

     Thomas Townsend was born in 1770.² He was the son of Dr. Richard Townsend and Eleanor Sealy.² He married Martha Uniacke, daughter of Redmond Uniacke, in 1799.² He died on 13 April 1847.²
     He lived at Clyda, County Cork, Ireland^G.²

     William Henry Beamish was born on 19 February 1849.¹ He was the son of Reverend Adam Newman Beamish and Mary Catherine Newman.¹ He married Mary Helena Dring Jervois, daughter of Francis Jervois, on 10 August 1876.¹ He died in 1927.¹
     He was a land agent.¹ He lived at Merville, Queenstown, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Mary Helena Dring Jervois was the daughter of Francis Jervois.¹ She married William Henry Beamish, son of Reverend Adam Newman Beamish and Mary Catherine Newman, on 10 August 1876.¹ She died in 1929.¹
     From 10 August 1876, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Francis Jervois lived at Brade, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹

     Adam Henry Newman Beamish was born on 20 August 1881.¹ He was the son of William Henry Beamish and Mary Helena Dring Jervois.¹ He died young.¹

     Jervois William Newman Beamish was born on 6 January 1884.¹ He was the son of William Henry Beamish and Mary Helena Dring Jervois.¹ He married Edna May Lennox, daughter of Thomas Hodkins Lennox, in 1914.¹ He died on 4 January 1965 at age 80, or 1 April 1965.¹

     Edna May Lennox was the daughter of Thomas Hodkins Lennox.¹ She married Jervois William Newman Beamish, son of William Henry Beamish and Mary Helena Dring Jervois, in 1914.¹
     From 1914, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Mary Jervois Beamish was born in 1915.¹ She is the daughter of Jervois William Newman Beamish and Edna May Lennox.¹
