     Brig.-Gen. James Reginald Maitland Dalrymple-Hay was born on 30 July 1858.1 He was the son of Colonel George James Dalrymple-Hay and Amelia Emily Maitland.2 He married Catherine Margaret Billinghurst, daughter of Henry Billinghurst, on 20 April 1892.1 He died on 6 November 1924 at age 66.1
     He was appointed Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1910.1 He was Brigadier-General of the Jamaica Forces between 1910 and 1914.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the West Indies Regiment.1
