     Mary Agnes Shannon was the daughter of Oliver Shannon and Mary Theresa Murphy.¹ She married Richard Ball, son of Laurence Ball and Catherine Jordan, in 1853.¹ She died on 4 April 1914.¹
     From 1853, her married name became Ball.¹

     Laurence Francis Ball was born on 12 October 1856.¹ He was the son of Richard Ball and Mary Agnes Shannon.¹ He married Mary Gargan, daughter of Patrick Gargan, in 1889.¹ He died in 1934.¹
     He was educated at Tullabeg College.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.¹ He lived at Dowdstown, Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹

     Mary Gargan was the daughter of Patrick Gargan.¹ She married Laurence Francis Ball, son of Richard Ball and Mary Agnes Shannon, in 1889.¹ She died in 1894.¹
     From 1889, her married name became Ball.¹

     Patrick Gargan lived at Drakerath, Nobber, County Meath, Ireland^G.¹

     Captain Richard Joseph Ball was born on 3 April 1890.¹ He was the son of Laurence Francis Ball and Mary Gargan.¹ He married Olive Cloherty, daughter of Gerald Cloherty, in June 1925.¹ He died on 17 March 1951 at age 60.¹
     He was educated at Clongowes Wood College, S.J., Clane, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, as a Captain with the Royal Engineers.¹

     Olive Cloherty is the daughter of Gerald Cloherty.¹ She married Captain Richard Joseph Ball, son of Laurence Francis Ball and Mary Gargan, in June 1925.¹
     From June 1925, her married name became Ball.¹ As of 1976, Olive Cloherty lived at Jubilee Hill, Ballyman, Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.¹

     Gerald Cloherty held the office of the Crown Solicitor for Galway.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Laws (L.L.D.)¹ He lived at Salthill, Galway, County Galway, Ireland^G.¹

     Laurence Raymond Ball was born on 18 August 1927.¹ He is the son of Captain Richard Joseph Ball and Olive Cloherty.¹ He married Laura Madeleine Hernon, daughter of Patrick Joseph Hernon, on 2 April 1959.¹
     He was educated at Clongowes Wood College, S.J., Clane, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹ He was the Irish University ½ mile champion between 1946 and 1948.¹ He was an Irish Rugby trialist in 1948.¹ He graduated from University College Dublin, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He was Chairman, Moy Holdings, Ltd. in 1974.¹ He lived at Jubilee Hill, Ballyman, Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.¹

     Laura Madeleine Hernon is the daughter of Patrick Joseph Hernon.¹ She married Laurence Raymond Ball, son of Captain Richard Joseph Ball and Olive Cloherty, on 2 April 1959.¹
     From 2 April 1959, her married name became Ball.¹

     Patrick Joseph Hernon graduated with a Doctor of Laws (L.L.D.)¹ He lived at Jubilee Hall, Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Dublin City Manager between 1932 and 1957.¹
