     Lt.-Col. Evelyn Rivers Henry Josias Cloete was the son of General Sir Abraham Josias Cloete and Anne Woolcombe Louis.2,3 He married Selma Mary Bagnell, daughter of Reverend Henry William Bagnell and Emma Almroth, on 10 October 1889.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.1
