Hugh Poyntz1

     Hugh Poyntz was the son of Nicholas Fitzpons and Juliana Bardolf.2 He married Hawise Malet, daughter of William Malet, before 23 March 1216/17.2 He died before 1220.1
     In 1210 he served for his father in Ireland.1 In 1214 he served for King John in Poitou.1 In 1215 he sided with the Barons against King John.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester on 17 July 1216, where he was captured.1 Between August 1216 and 1220 he was imprisoned.1 In February 1216/17 he pledged himself to serve King Henry III.1

     Sir Hugh Poyntz, 1st Lord Poyntz was born on 25 August 1252.1 He was the son of Sir Nicholas Poyntz and Elizabeth Dyall.2 He married Margaret Paveley, daughter of Sir William Paveley.1 He died circa 1307.1
     He served in the wars in Wales, GAscony and Scotland.1 He was created 1st Lord Poyntz [England by writ] in 1295.2
