     Sir Richard Cox was born on 27 October 1677 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Cox, 1st Bt. and Mary Bourne.2 He married, firstly, Susanna French, daughter of James French, on 5 September 1698.2 He married, secondly, Mary Pomeroy, daughter of Very Rev. Arthur Pomeroy and Elizabeth Osborne, on 13 March 1719 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.3 He married, thirdly, Eleanor Jefferyes, daughter of Sir James Jefferyes and unknown Vandensinden, circa 1723.4 He died on 15 April 1725 at age 47 at Brook Park, County Cork, Ireland.1

     Sir Richard Cox, 1st Bt. was born on 25 March 1650 at Bandon Bridge, County Cork, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Captain Richard Cox and Catherine Bird. He married Mary Bourne, daughter of John Bourne, on 26 February 1673 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.1 He died on 3 May 1733 at age 83 at Dunmanway, County Cork, IrelandG.1
     He held the office of Chief Justice of the Common Pleas for Ireland between 1701 and 1703.2 He held the office of Lord High Chancellor [Ireland] between 1703 and 1707.2 He was created 1st Baronet Cox, of Dunmanway, co. Cork [Ireland] on 21 November 1706.1 He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench for Ireland between 1711 and 1714.2 He held the office of Lord Chancellor [Ireland] in 1725.3
