     Charles Joseph Bonaparte was born on 9 June 1851 at Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.G.1 He was the son of Jérôme Napoléon Bonaparte and Susan May Williams.1 He married Ellen Channing Day, daughter of Thomas Mills Day and Anna Jones, on 1 September 1875 at Newport, Rhode Island, U.S.A.G.1 He died on 28 June 1921 at age 70 at Bella Vista, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.G.1
     He was admitted to Maryland Bar in 1874.1 He was Supervisor of Elections for Baltimore City in 1895.1 He was Presidential Elector for Maryland in 1904.1 He held the office of Secretary of the U.S. Navy between 1905 and 1906.1 He held the office of Attorney-General [U.S.] between 1906 and 1909.1
