     Catherine Haughton James was born in 1793 at Hanover, Jamaica.2 She was the daughter of John Haughton James and Mary Halton.1,2 She married Sir Simon Haughton Clarke, 9th Bt., son of Sir Simon Clarke, 7th Bt. and Anne Haughton, on 9 April 1814 at St. Marylebone, London, England.1,2 She died on 13 August 1837 at Oak Hill, East Barnet, Hertfordshire, England.1,2 Her will was proven (by probate) in January 1839.1
     From 9 April 1814, her married name became Clarke.1
