     Lt.-Col. Walter Murray was born on 13 August 1882.1 He was the son of Reverend Douglas Stuart Murray and Harriet Georgina Isabel Bridgeman.1 He married Evelyn Adie, daughter of William Edward Adie, on 15 August 1911.1 He died on 8 November 1945 at age 63.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1916.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.1
