     She was born prematurely, and the legend has it that she was black, and was spirited away to be brought up in a convent. Her mother was supposedly frightened by a black page before her birth.¹

     Marie Thérèse de Bourbon was born on 2 January 1667 at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Île-de-France, France^G.¹ She was the daughter of Louis XIV, Roi de France and Maria Teresa von Habsburg, Infanta de España.¹ She died on 1 March 1672 at age 5 at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Île-de-France, France^G.¹ She was buried at Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France^G.¹
