     Jane McAdam was the daughter of Quentin McAdam.² She married Colonel Hon. Frederick McAdam of Craigangillan, son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot, on 18 October 1827.¹ She died on 25 April 1878.¹

     General Hon. Sir George Cathcart was born on 12 May 1794.¹ He was the son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot.² He married Lady Georgiana Greville, daughter of Hon. Robert Fulke Greville and Louisa Cathcart, Countess of Mansfield, on 12 May 1824.¹ He died on 5 November 1854 at age 60, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, as Aide-de-Camp to the Duke of Wellington.¹ He gained the rank of General.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Cape of Good Hope.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the Tower of London.¹ He fought in the Crimean War.¹ He was commander of the 4th Division.¹ He fought in the Battle of Inkerman on 5 November 1854.¹

     Sarah Lucy Jacques is the daughter of Geoffrey Jacques.² She married Simon Mark Andrew Vavasour, son of Christopher Edward Vavasour and Cecilie May Morris, on 25 January 1992.¹
     From 25 January 1992, her married name became Vavasour.¹

     Lady Georgiana Greville was the daughter of Hon. Robert Fulke Greville and Louisa Cathcart, Countess of Mansfield.^2,1 She married General Hon. Sir George Cathcart, son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot, on 12 May 1824.¹ She died on 12 December 1871.¹
     From 12 May 1824, her married name became Cathcart.

     Emily Sarah Cathcart was baptised on 18 December 1834 at St. Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England.² She was the daughter of General Hon. Sir George Cathcart and Lady Georgiana Greville.³ She died on 16 February 1917 at age 82, unmarried.¹
     She was awarded the Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.)¹ She held the office of Maid of Honour to HM Queen Victoria between 1855 and 1879.¹ She held the office of Woman of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria between 1888 and 1901.¹

     Lt.-Col. Hon. Adolphus Frederick Cathcart was born on 28 June 1803.¹ He was the son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot.² He married Margaret Home, daughter of William Forman Home, on 2 July 1832.¹ He died on 6 April 1884 at age 80, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.¹ He lived at Caldra, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.¹

     William Forman Home lived at Paxton, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Wedderburn, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Home was the daughter of William Forman Home.² She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Adolphus Frederick Cathcart, son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot, on 2 July 1832.¹ She died on 29 April 1861.¹
     From 2 July 1832, her married name became Cathcart.

     Harry Geoffrey George Vavasour was born on 1 July 1997.¹ He is the son of Simon Mark Andrew Vavasour and Sarah Lucy Jacques.¹
