     Jane McAdam was the daughter of Quentin McAdam.2 She married Colonel Hon. Frederick McAdam of Craigangillan, son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot, on 18 October 1827.1 She died on 25 April 1878.1

General Hon. Sir George Cathcart1

     General Hon. Sir George Cathcart was born on 12 May 1794.1 He was the son of General William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart and Elizabeth Elliot.2 He married Lady Georgiana Greville, daughter of Hon. Robert Fulke Greville and Louisa Cathcart, Countess of Mansfield, on 12 May 1824.1 He died on 5 November 1854 at age 60, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, as Aide-de-Camp to the Duke of Wellington.1 He gained the rank of General.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He held the office of Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Cape of Good Hope.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the Tower of London.1 He fought in the Crimean War.1 He was commander of the 4th Division.1 He fought in the Battle of Inkerman on 5 November 1854.1

     Sarah Lucy Jacques is the daughter of Geoffrey Jacques.2 She married Simon Mark Andrew Vavasour, son of Christopher Edward Vavasour and Cecilie May Morris, on 25 January 1992.1

     Emily Sarah Cathcart was baptised on 18 December 1834 at St. Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England.2 She was the daughter of General Hon. Sir George Cathcart and Lady Georgiana Greville.3 She died on 16 February 1917 at age 82, unmarried.1
     She was awarded the Lady, Royal Order of Victoria and Albert (V.A.)1 She held the office of Maid of Honour to HM Queen Victoria between 1855 and 1879.1 She held the office of Woman of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Victoria between 1888 and 1901.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1 He lived at Caldra, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1
