     Thomas Williams Evans was born on 6 March 1815.1 He was the son of Eyre Evans and Anna Maunsell.2 He married Helen Elizabeth Moncrieffe, daughter of Reverend David Stewart Moncrieffe and Sarah Ann Simmons, on 12 August 1851 at Clifton, Bristol, England.1,3 He died on 3 November 1882 at age 67 at Epson, Auckland, New Zealand.1,3
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 74th Highlanders.1 He lived at Crieff Lodge, Oamaru, New ZealandG.1
