     Lt.-Col. Hon. Henry Cadogan was born on 26 February 1780.¹ He was the son of Charles Sloane Cadogan, 1st Earl Cadogan and Mary Churchill.² He died on 21 June 1813 at age 33, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 71st Regiment.¹ He fought in the Battle of Vitoria on 21 June 1813.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.³
