     Thomas Fowell Buxton was born on 1 September 1756.1 He was the son of Isaac Buxton and Sarah Fowell.2 He married Anna Hanbury, daughter of Osgood Hanbury, on 12 February 1782.1 He died on 3 December 1793 at age 37.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex.1 He lived at Earl's Colne, Essex, EnglandG.1

     Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 1st Bt. was born on 7 April 1786.3 He was the son of Thomas Fowell Buxton and Anna Hanbury.3 He married Hannah Gurney, daughter of John Gurney and Catherine Bell, on 13 May 1807.3 He died on 19 February 1845 at age 58.3
     He was an anti-slavery campaigner.3 He was created 1st Baronet Buxton, of Belfield, co. Dorset and Runton, co. Norfolk [U.K.] on 30 July 1840.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4
