     Rt. Rev. John Paul Burrough was born on 5 May 1916.2 He was the son of Rev. Canon Evan Gabriel Burrough and Amy Mary Ridgway Bridson.1 He married Bess (?) in 1962.2 He died on 27 January 2003 at age 86.2
     He was educated at St. Edward's School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was educated at St. Edmund's Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Corps of Signals.2 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1942, in Malaya, where he became a Japanese POW in 1942.2 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.2 He was Curate between 1946 and 1951 at Aldershot Parish Church, Aldershot, Hampshire, England.2 He was a missionary between 1951 and 1959 at Korea.2 He held the office of Hon. Canon of Birmingham in 1965.2 He held the office of Bishop of Mashonaland between 1968 and 1981.2
