Lauderdale Ramsay was baptised on 1 September 1806 at Fettercairn, Kincardineshire, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Sir Alexander Ramsay of Balmain, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Bannerman.1,3 She married, firstly, David Duncan on 10 July 1832 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 She married, secondly, Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt., son of Sir Robert Burnett of Leys, 7th Bt. and Margaret Dalrymple-Horn-Elphinstone, on 12 July 1837.1 She died on 4 November 1888 at age 82 at 47 Heriot Row, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3
From 10 July 1832, her married name became Duncan.1 From 12 July 1837, her married name became Burnett.1

Colonel Sir Thomas Burnett of Leys, 12th Bt. was born on 27 November 1840.1 He was the son of Sir James Horn Burnett of Leys, 10th Bt. and Lauderdale Ramsay.1 He married Mary Elizabeth Cumine, daughter of James Cumine, on 2 June 1875.1 He died on 25 January 1926 at age 85.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1885 in the Royal Horse Artillery.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1890 in the Royal Horse Artillery.1 He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Burnett, of Leys, co.
