     James Crichton of Cluny was born in 1560.3 He was the son of Sir Robert Crichton of Eliock and Elizabeth Stewart.1,3 He died on 3 July 1582 at ItalyG, murdered by Vincenzo Gonzaga.3
     James Crichton of Cluny also went by the nick-name of James 'the Admirable'.1 He was educated between 1570 and 1574 at University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.3
