     Sir William Purves, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Purves, 2nd Bt. and unknown daughter Hume.1 He married Elizabeth Deans, daughter of Rosina Purves, before 1700.2 He died in 1730.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Purves, of Purves Hall, co. Berwick [N.S., 1665] in 1701.1

     Elizabeth Deans was the daughter of Rosina Purves.1 She married Sir William Purves, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Alexander Purves, 2nd Bt. and unknown daughter Hume, before 1700.2 She died on 8 September 1764.1
     From before 1700, her married name became Purves.1

     Sir Alexander Purves, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir William Purves, 1st Bt. and Margery Fleming.1 He married unknown daughter Hume.2 He died in 1701.1
     He held the office of Secretary-General for Scotland.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Purves, of Purves Hall, co. Berwick [N.S., 1665] in 1685.1
