     Lt.-Col. John Murray of Touchadam and Polmaise married Lady Agnes Caroline Graham, daughter of James Graham, 4th Duke of Montrose and Hon. Caroline Agnes Horsley-Beresford, on 15 September 1859.1 He died on 11 August 1903.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1

     James Maitland, Viscount Maitland was born circa 1680.1 He was the son of John Maitland, 5th Earl of Lauderdale and Lady Margaret Cuninghame.1 A contract for the marriage of James Maitland, Viscount Maitland and Lady Jean Sutherland was signed on 31 August 1702.1 He died in 1709, without male issue.1
     He was styled as Viscount Maitland between 1695 and 1709.1

     John Maitland, 5th Earl of Lauderdale was born circa 1655.2 He was the son of Charles Maitland, 3rd Earl of Lauderdale and Elizabeth Lauder.1 He married Lady Margaret Cuninghame, daughter of Alexander Cuninghame, 10th Earl of Glencairn and Nicola Stewart, circa 1680.3 He died on 30 August 1710.1
     He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1679.1 He gained the title of Lord Ravelrig [Scottish Law Lord].1 He held the office of Lord of Session.1 He was created 1st Baronet Maitland [Nova Scotia] on 18 November 1680.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Midlothian from 1685 to 1686.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Midlothian between 1689 and 1696.1 He was appointed Privy Councillor (P.C.)      Her married name became Grant.

     Janet Sutherland was the daughter of William Sutherland, Lord Strathnaver and Catherine Morison.1 She married George Sinclair of Ulbster, son of John Sinclair of Ulbster and Henrietta Brodie, on 24 October 1740.2 She died on 9 June 1795.
     Her married name became Sinclair.

Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, 1st Bt.1

     Sir James Colquhoun of Luss, 1st Bt. was born on 22 February 1714.1 He was the son of Sir James Grant of Grant, 6th Bt. and Anne Colquhoun.2 He married Helen Sutherland, daughter of William Sutherland, Lord Strathnaver and Catherine Morison, on 12 April 1740.1 He died on 18 November 1786 at age 72.
     He was given the name of James Grant at birth.1 He succeeded to the Colquhoun estates as heir under the entail of 1706 after considerable litigation with his brother, Sir Ludovic.1 He built the mansion of Rossdhu.1 He was created 1st Baronet Colquhoun, of Luss [Great Britain] on 27 June 1786.1
