Samuel Tevis was born in March 1788 at Baltimore County, Maryland, U.S.A.G.2 He was the son of Robert Tevis and Martha Crow.2 He married Sarah Jane Greathouse, daughter of Isaac Greathouse, on 23 December 1817 at Shelby County, Kentucky, U.S.A.G.2 He died in May 1841 at age 53 at Shelby County, Kentucky, U.S.A.G.2 His will was proven (by probate) in May 1841.2
