     John Campbell was born before 1593.1 He was the son of Sir Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy, 1st Bt. and Lady Jean Stewart.1 A contract for the marriage of John Campbell and Florentine MacDougall was signed on 29 August 1614.1 He died in 1618.1
     He lived at Auchintyre, ScotlandG.1

     Florentine MacDougall was the daughter of Duncan Macdougall, 16th of Dunollie and of Lorn.1 A contract for the marriage of Florentine MacDougall and John Campbell was signed on 29 August 1614.1
     From 29 August 1614, her married name became Campbell.1

     Duncan Macdougall, 16th of Dunollie and of Lorn was the son of Dougall Macdougall, 15th of Dunollie and of Lorn.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Maclean, daughter of Hector 'Og' Maclean, 9th of Duart and Lady Janet Campbell.1 He married, secondly, Sibylla Drummond circa 1609.1 He died in 1618.1
     In 1587 he built Gylen Castle on Isle of Kerrera.1 In 1596 he obtained a charter from King James VI.1
