     Sir Donald Macdonald, 12th of Sleat, 5th Bt. was born circa 1697.1 He was the son of Sir Donald Macdonald, 11th of Sleat, 4th Bt. and Mary Macdonald.1 He died in 1720, unmarried.1
     He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 7 November 1712.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Macdonald, of Sleat, in the Isle of Skye, co. Inverness [N.S., 1625] in 1718.1

     He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Macdonald, of Sleat, in the Isle of Skye, co. Inverness [N.S., 1625] in 1720.1 He lived at Oransay, ScotlandG.1

     Sir James Macdonald, 15th of Sleat, 8th Bt. was born circa 1742 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Macdonald, 14th of Sleat, 7th Bt. and Lady Margaret Montgomerie.1 He died on 26 July 1766 at Rome, ItalyG, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Macdonald, of Sleat, in the Isle of Skye, co. Inverness [N.S., 1625] on 23 November 1746.1 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 9 May 1759.1 He was an accomplished scholar and mathematician, known as "The Marcellus of the North."1 Pope Clement XII gave him a public funeral, even though he was a Protestant.1
