     Richard Stuart Best, Baron Best was born on 22 June 1945.¹ He is the son of Walter Stuart Best and Frances Mary Chignell.¹ He married, firstly, Ima Akpan in 1970.¹ He and Ima Akpan were divorced in 1976.¹ He married, secondly, Belinda Janie Tremayne Stemp, daughter of Geoffrey Eustace Stemp, in 1978.¹

     Ima Akpan married Richard Stuart Best, Baron Best, son of Walter Stuart Best and Frances Mary Chignell, in 1970.¹ She and Richard Stuart Best, Baron Best were divorced in 1976.¹
     From 1970, her married name became Best.¹
