     Jane Simpson was the daughter of George Simpson.1 She married Thomas Bannerman, son of Alexander Bannerman and Margaret Burnett, in 1779.1,2
     Her married name became Bannerman.1

     Margaret Gordon was the daughter of Alexander Gordon.1 She married Sir Alexander Bannerman, son of Thomas Bannerman and Jane Simpson, on 14 January 1824.1 She died on 24 December 1878.1
     From 14 January 1824, her married name became Bannerman.1

Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt.1

     Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. was born on 16 December 1871.1 He was the son of Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 10th Bt. and Anne Mary Brooke.1 He married Joan Mary Harford, daughter of Frederic Dundas Harford and Amy Mary Josephine Stourton, on 12 May 1920.1 He died on 10 March 1934 at age 62, without male issue.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineer.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd/5th North Staffordshire Regiment.1 He fought in the Boer War, where he was mentioned in dispatched.1 He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 3 December 1901.1 He fought in the Russo-Japanese War between 1904 and 1905, with the Japanese Army during the siege of Port Arthur.1 He gained the rank of Brevet Major.1 He fought in the First World War.1

     Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes was the son of Major H. C. Symmes.1 He married Eve Mary Bannerman, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. and Joan Mary Harford, on 27 January 1951.1 He died in 1991.1
     Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes usually went by his middle name of Cecil.1
