     William Kirkpatrick of Closeburn was born on 24 May 1764 at Glasbury, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of William Kirkpatrick and Mary Wilson.2,3 He married Dona Marie Françoise de Grevigné-Gallegos on 2 November 1791 at Church of the Parish of San Juan Dios, Malaga, Spain.3 He died on 27 May 1837 at age 73 at Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2,3
     He held the office of American Consul at Malaga between 1800 and 1818.1
