     Sir Charles Gundry Alexander, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 May 1923.1 He was the son of Sir Frank Samuel Alexander, 1st Bt. and Elsa Mary Collett.1 He married Mary Neale Richardson, daughter of Stanley Robert Richardson, on 16 December 1944.1 He died on 31 December 2009 at age 86.2
     He was educated at Bishop's Stortford College, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1943 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1 He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1947 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was registered as a Associate, Institute of Marine Engineers.1 He was chairman of Alexander Shipping Company Ltd between 1959 and 1987.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Alexander, of Sundridge Park, Kent [U.K., 1945] on 18 July 1959.1 He held the office of Alderman of Bridge Ward between 1970 and 1976.1 He was Master of the Merchant Taylors' Company in 1981.1 He was Prime Warden of the Shipwrights' Company in 1983.1 He lived in 2003 at Hollytree Farmhouse, North Cadbury, Yeovil, Somerset, EnglandG.1
