Sir Thomas Alen, 1st Bt. was born circa 1566.1 He was the son of John Alen and Anne Dillon.1 He married, firstly, Mary Fleming, daughter of William Fleming, 11th Lord Slane and Elinor Fleming, after 1616.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Preston, daughter of Jenico Preston, 5th Viscount Gormanston and Margaret St. Lawrence, after 1623.1 He died on 7 March 1626/27, without issue.1 He was buried at Donacomper, County Kildare, IrelandG.2 His will (dated 1 March 1626) was proven (by probate) on 18 April 1627.2
He was also known as Allen.1 He was created 1st Baronet Alen, of St. Wolstons, co. Kildare [Ireland] on 7 June 1622, for services rendered by his great-uncle, Archbishop Alen.1 He was appointed Knight on 8 June 1622.1
On his death, his Baronetcy became extinct.2
