     Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg was born on 3 July 1804 at Hildburghausen, GermanyG.1 He was the son of Friedrich Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Charlotte Georgine Luise Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz.1 He married Amalie Antoinette Prinzessin von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, daughter of Karl Anton Friedrich Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and Antoinette Marie Murat, Princesse Murat, on 25 July 1835 at Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He married Luise Caroline Prinzessin Reuss zu Greiz, daughter of Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort, on 8 March 1842 at Greiz, Sachsen, GermanyG.1 He died on 16 May 1852 at age 47.1
     He gained the title of Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg.1

     She was created Princesse Antoinette Murat on 28 January 1808.

     Luise Caroline Prinzessin Reuss zu Greiz was born on 3 December 1822 at Greiz, Sachsen, GermanyG.1 She was the daughter of Heinrich XIX Fürst Reuss zu Greiz and Gasparine Rohan-Rochefort, Princess Rohan-Rochefort.1 She married, firstly, Eduard Karl Wilhelm Prinz von Sachsen-Altenburg, son of Friedrich Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Charlotte Georgine Luise Herzogin von Mecklenburg-Strelitz, on 8 March 1842 at Greiz, Sachsen, GermanyG.1 She married, secondly, Heinrich IV Prinz Reuss zu Köstritz, son of Heinrich LXIII Fürst Reuss zu Köstritz and Eleonore Gräfin zu Stolberg-Wernigerode, on 27 December 1854 at Greiz, Sachsen, GermanyG.2 She died on 28 February 1875 at age 52 at Ernstbrunn, AustriaG.1 She was also reported to have died on 28 May 1875.
