     Sir Duncan Campbell of Auchinbreck, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Dugald Campbell of Auchinbreck, 1st Bt. and Mary Erskine.2,3 He married, firstly, Margaret Blair, daughter of Brice Blair of Blair, in 1620.1 He married, secondly, unknown daughter Newark, daughter of unknown Maxwell of Newark, in 1628.1 He married, thirdly, Jean Colquhoun, daughter of Sir Alexander Colquhoun of Luss and Helen Buchanan, before 1645.4 He died in 1645 at Inverlochy, Inverness-shire, ScotlandG, murdered with Argyll’s troops, after being taken prisoner.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Argyllshire [Scotland] between 1628 and 1633.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Argyllshire [Scotland] between 1639 and 1641.3 He was commander of the Argyll’s troops in Ireland 1641 in 1641 taking Dunluce Castle, County Antrim.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Campbell, of Auchinbreck [N.S., 1628] in 1641.1 He held the office of Governor of Rathlin Island.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Argyllshire [Scotland] in 1643.3

     Catherine Montgomery was born circa 1663.1 She was the daughter of Hugh Montgomery, 1st Earl of Mount Alexander and Hon. Catherine Jones.1 She married Sir Francis Hamilton, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Charles Hamilton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Sempill, circa 1685.1 She died on 6 January 1692.1
     From circa 1685, her married name became Hamilton.1

Hugh Montgomery, 1st Earl of Mount Alexander1

     Hugh Montgomery, 1st Earl of Mount Alexander was born in 1623.2 He was the son of Hugh Montgomery, 2nd Viscount Montgomery of the Great Ardes and Jean Alexander.3,2 He married, firstly, Mary Moore, daughter of Charles Moore, 2nd Viscount Moore of Drogheda.2 He married Hon. Catherine Jones, daughter of Arthur Jones, 2nd Viscount Ranelagh and Lady Catherine Boyle.1 He died on 15 September 1663 at Dromore, County Down, Ireland.2
     He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Montgomery in 1642. He held the office of Master of Ordnance in Ireland on 12 September 1660.2 He gained the title of 1st Earl of Mount Alexander on 20 June 1661.1
