     Nancy Barbara Kathleen Croft was born on 6 September 1898.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Herbert Archer Croft, 10th Bt. and Kathleen Hare.¹ She married W/Cdr. John Sever Philips, son of Reverend Philip Richard Philips, on 12 July 1928.¹ She died on 10 October 1970 at age 72.¹
      From 12 July 1928, her married name became Phillips.²
