     David Gerald Brooks, 5th Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw was born on 14 September 1934.1 He is the son of Gerald Beach Brooks, 3rd Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw and Marjory Sheila Clifton.2 He married Belinda Mary Burgess, daughter of George Burgess, on 27 October 1970.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Leicestershire between 1985 and 1986.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Brooks [U.K., 1891] on 7 November 1997.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Crawshaw of Crawshaw, co. Lancaster and of Whatton, co. Leicester [U.K., 1892] on 7 November 1997.1 He lived in 2003 at Little Riste Farm, Long Whatton, Loughborough, Leicestershire, EnglandG.1
