     Mary Williamson was born on 20 March 1934. She was the daughter of Brigadier Hudleston Noel Hedworth Williamson and Leila Isabel Lodwick.1 She married Lord Sir Nicholas Charles Gordon Lennox, son of Frederick Charles Gordon-Lennox, 9th Duke of Richmond and Elizabeth Grace Hudson, on 14 January 1958.1 She died on 26 September 2021 at age 87.2
     Her married name became Gordon Lennox. She was appointed Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.) in 2000.1

     Lord Sir Nicholas Charles Gordon Lennox was born on 31 January 1931.2 He was the son of Frederick Charles Gordon-Lennox, 9th Duke of Richmond and Elizabeth Grace Hudson.1 He married Mary Williamson, daughter of Brigadier Hudleston Noel Hedworth Williamson and Leila Isabel Lodwick, on 14 January 1958.2 He died on 11 October 2004 at age 73.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He was with HM Foreign Service in 1954.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.2 He was appointed Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.) in 1957.2 He was Private Secretary to the Ambassador to the U.S. between 1957 and 1961.2 He was First Secretary to Chile between 1961 and 1963.2 He was Private Secretary to the Permament Under-Secretary, Foreign Office between 1963 and 1966.2 He held the office of First Secretary to Spain between 1966 and 1971.2 He held the office of Counsellor to Paris between 1975 and 1979.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1978.2 He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary, Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1979 and 1984.2 He held the office of Ambassador to Spain between 1984 and 1989.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1986.2 He was awarded the Medal of Honour of Madrid University in 1988.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1989.2 He was awarded the Grand Cross, Order of Isabel la Catolica of Spain.2 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1990 in the 4th Battalion, Royal Green Jackets.2 He was Governor of the BBC between 1990 and 1998.2

     Brigadier Hudleston Noel Hedworth Williamson was born on 27 December 1886. He was the son of Captain Cecil Hedworth Williamson and Charlotte Campbell Campbell-Johnston. He married Helen Marjorie Lord, daughter of Arthur Edward Lord and Helen Julia Bramwell, before 1926.2 He married Leila Isabel Lodwick, daughter of Lt.-Col. R. W. P. Lodwick, on 20 January 1926.
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He lived at South Nore, West Wittering, Sussex, EnglandG.
