     Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex was born on 21 February 1884.² He was the son of George Devereux de Vere Capell, 7th Earl of Essex and Ellenor Harriet Maria Hartford.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman, daughter of William Russell Stewart Freeman, on 28 September 1905.² He and Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman were divorced in 1926.² He married, secondly, Alys Montgomery Falkiner, daughter of Robert Hayes Falkiner, on 10 February 1926.² He and Alys Montgomery Falkiner were divorced in 1950.² He married, thirdly, Mildred Carlson on 10 December 1950.² He and Mildred Carlson were divorced in 1956.² He married, fourthly, Christine Mary Davis, daughter of George Frederick Davis, in 1957.² He died on 8 December 1966 at age 82.²
