Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex was born on 21 February 1884.2 He was the son of George Devereux de Vere Capell, 7th Earl of Essex and Ellenor Harriet Maria Hartford.1 He married, firstly, Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman, daughter of William Russell Stewart Freeman, on 28 September 1905.2 He and Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman were divorced in 1926.2 He married, secondly, Alys Montgomery Falkiner, daughter of Robert Hayes Falkiner, on 10 February 1926.2 He and Alys Montgomery Falkiner were divorced in 1950.2 He married, thirdly, Mildred Carlson on 10 December 1950.2 He and Mildred Carlson were divorced in 1956.2 He married, fourthly, Christine Mary Davis, daughter of George Frederick Davis, in 1957.2 He died on 8 December 1966 at age 82.2
