     Maria Shirreff was baptised on 20 January 1782 at Old Alresford, Hampshire, England.² She was the daughter of General William Shirreff.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Hon. William Grey, son of General Charles Grey, 1st Earl Grey and Elizabeth Grey, on 7 May 1805 at Clifton, Gloucestershire, England.^1,2 She died on 4 August 1857 at age 75.¹
      From 7 May 1805, her married name became Grey.

     Lieutenant John Eden was born on 9 October 1888.¹ He was the son of Sir William Eden, 5th/7th Bt. and Sybil Frances Grey.² He died on 17 October 1914 at age 26 at France, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 12th Lancers.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹

     Sir Timothy Calvert Eden, 6th/8th Bt. was born on 3 May 1893.¹ He was the son of Sir William Eden, 5th/7th Bt. and Sybil Frances Grey.² He married Edith Mary Prendergast, daughter of Arthur Prendergast, on 30 January 1923.¹ He died on 13 May 1963 at age 70.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he became a POW.¹ He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He succeeded to the title of 8th Baronet Eden, of West Auckland, co. Durham [E., 1672] on 20 February 1915.¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Eden, of Maryland [G.B., 1776] on 20 February 1915.¹ He wrote the book The Tribulations of a Baronet.¹ He gained the rank of Second World War.¹

     Edith Mary Prendergast was the daughter of Arthur Prendergast.² She married Sir Timothy Calvert Eden, 6th/8th Bt., son of Sir William Eden, 5th/7th Bt. and Sybil Frances Grey, on 30 January 1923.¹ She died in 1990.¹
      Edith Mary Prendergast usually went by her middle name of Patricia. Her married name became Eden.

     John Benedict Eden, Baron Eden of Winton was born on 15 September 1925.³ He is the son of Sir Timothy Calvert Eden, 6th/8th Bt. and Edith Mary Prendergast.⁴ He married, firstly, Belinda Jane Pascoe, daughter of Sir Frederick John Pascoe and Margaret Esson Scott, on 28 January 1958.³ He and Belinda Jane Pascoe were divorced in 1974.³ He married, secondly, Margaret Anne Gordon, daughter of Robin Gordon, on 8 January 1977.⁵
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.³ He was educated at St. Paul's School, Concord, New Hampshire, U.S.A..³ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Rifle Brigade, and 2nd KEO Gurkha Rifles.³ He gained the rank of Adjutant in 1943 in the service of the Gilgit Scouts.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bournemouth West between February 1954 and 1983.³ He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Eden, of West Auckland, co. Durham [E., 1672] on 13 May 1963.⁶ He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Eden, of Maryland [G.B., 1776] on 13 May 1963.⁶ He held the office of Minister for Industry between 1970 and 1972.³ He gained the rank of Minister of State, Technology between June 1970 and October 1970.³ He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1972.³ He held the office of Minister for Posts and Telecommunications between 1972 and 1974.³ He was created Baron Eden of Winton, of Rushyford in the County of Durham [U.K. Life Peer] on 3 October 1983.¹

     Belinda Jane Pascoe was born on 14 April 1938. She is the daughter of Sir Frederick John Pascoe and Margaret Esson Scott.² She married John Benedict Eden, Baron Eden of Winton, son of Sir Timothy Calvert Eden, 6th/8th Bt. and Edith Mary Prendergast, on 28 January 1958.¹ She and John Benedict Eden, Baron Eden of Winton were divorced in 1974.¹
      From 28 January 1958, her married name became Eden.

     Sir Frederick John Pascoe was born on 19 March 1893. He is the son of Frederick Richard Pascoe and Laura Augusta Tonkin. He married Margaret Esson Scott, daughter of Colonel F. J. Scott, on 7 January 1936.
