     James Hay was the son of James Hay and Margaret Gordon.2 He married Helen Lauder, daughter of Sir John Lauder, 2nd Bt. and Janet Ramsay, after 1722.1 He died in 1740.2
     James Hay was a merchant at Banff, Banffshire, Scotland.1
