He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the County and City of Belfast.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Belfast.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Belfast in 1911.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of Belfast between 1914 and 1916.1 He was appointed Knight on 19 May 1915.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) Sir Joseph Crawford McCullagh, 2nd Bt. was born on 25 September 1907.1 He was the son of Sir Crawford McCullagh, 1st Bt. and Margaret Craig Brodie.1 He married Elizabeth Green Copeland, daughter of James Copeland, in 1937.1 He died on 16 January 1974 at age 66.2
He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet McCullagh, of Lismara, in the parish of Carnmoney, co. Antriim [U.K., 1935] on 13 April 1948.1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
