     Sir George Gabriel Stokes, 1st Bt. was born on 13 August 1819 at Skreen, County Sligo, Ireland.¹ He was the son of Reverend Gabriel Stokes.¹ He died on 1 February 1903 at age 83 at Cambridgeshire, England.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Stokes [U.K.].

     Reverend Gabriel Stokes was born on 30 January 1762 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Stokes.¹ He died on 8 May 1834 at age 72 at Skreen, County Sligo, Ireland.¹
