     Robert Clyde Packer was born on 24 July 1879 at Tasmania, Australia.1 He was the son of Arthur Howard Packer and Margaret Fitzmaurice Clyde.1 He married Ethel Maude Hewson, daughter of Reverend Francis Maurice Hewson and Frances Harriet Briscoe, on 13 July 1903 at St. Matthias Church, Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.1 He died on 12 April 1934 at age 54 at Marseilles, France.1
     He was a journalist.1 In 1918 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, a co-founder of Smith's Weekly.1
