Sir Frederick Parkinson Lester was born on 3 February 1795.2 He was the son of John Lester and Elizabeth Parkinson.3 He married Charlotte Pratt Fyvie, daughter of Reverend William Fyvie and Charlotte Pratt, on 5 May 1840 at Mahabaleshwar, India.3 He died on 3 July 1858 at age 63 at Belgaum, Bombay, India.1
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1858.2
