     Sir William Masham, 1st Bt. was born circa 13 October 1591.1 He was the son of William Masham and Alice Calton.1 He married Elizabeth Barrington, daughter of Sir Francis Barrington, 1st Bt. and Joan Cromwell. He died in 1656.1
     He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was created 1st Baronet Masham [England] on 20 December 1621. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Malden from 1624 to 1626.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester in 1628.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester in 1640.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex in 1640.1
