     Admiral Sir William Windham Hornby was born on 23 July 1812 at Huyton, Lancashire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Geoffrey Hornby and Hon. Georgiana Byng. He married Augusta Call, daughter of Sir William Pratt Call, 2nd Bt. and Lady Louisa Georgiana Forbes.2 He married Catherine Tottenham, daughter of Charles Tottenham and Isabella Catherine Airey, in 1897.1 He died in 1899.1
     Admiral Sir William Windham Hornby usually went by his middle name of Windham.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)2

     Colonel Charles Synge was born on 17 April 1789.2 He was the son of George Synge and Mary MacDonnell.2 He died on 21 October 1854 at age 65 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2
     He was commissioned on 11 May 1809 with the rank of Cornet, in the service of the 10th Hussars.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 8 February 1810.2 He fought in the Peninsular Wars.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 12 August 1813.2 He gained the rank of Captain on 12 November 1814 in the 20th Light Dragoons.2 He gained the rank of Brevet Major on 21 June 1817.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel on 9 August 1821.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.2
