     Catherine Maria Johnson was born in 1786.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Johnson, 2nd Bt. and Mary Watts.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Barnard Foord Bowes, son of Barnard Foord and Ann Bowes, on 15 April 1805 at Canada.¹ She died in 1850.¹
     From 23 June 1812, her married name became Bowes.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Barnard Foord Bowes was baptised on 7 July 1769 at St. Saviour's Church, York, Yorkshire, England.¹ He was the son of Barnard Foord and Ann Bowes.¹ He married Catherine Maria Johnson, daughter of Sir John Johnson, 2nd Bt. and Mary Watts, on 15 April 1805 at Canada.¹ He died on 23 June 1812 at age 42 at Salamanca, Spain, killed in action.¹
