     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1832 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Vicar between 1835 and 1839 at Shelford, Essex, England.1 He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1836 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1
