     Mary Hammond was the daughter of Dr. John Hammond.1 She married Sir John Temple, son of Sir William Temple and Martha Harrison, in 1627.1 She died in November 1638 at Penshurst, Kent, England.1

     John Temple was the son of Sir William Temple, 1st and last Bt. and Dorothy Osborne.1 He married Marie du Plessis-Rambouillet, daughter of Paul du Plessis-Rambouillet, in 1685 at Paris, France.1 He died in 1689, by suicide.1
     He held the office of Paymaster-General.2 He held the office of Secretary of State for War in 1689.2
