     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tewkesbury between 1832 and 1835.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tewkesbury between 1837 and 1859.1
