     Francis John Stephens Hopwood, 1st Baron Southborough was born on 2 December 1860.2 He was the son of James Thomas Hopwood and Anne Ellen Stone.1,2 He married, firstly, Alice Smith-Neill, daughter of Captain William James Smith-Neill, on 6 July 1885.2 He married, secondly, Florence Emily Black, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sam Black, on 28 September 1892.2 He died on 17 January 1947 at age 86.2
     He was educated at King Edward's School, Louth, Lincolnshire, England.2 He was a practising solicitor in 1882.2 He was an assistant law clerk, Board of Trade between 1885 and 1888.2 He was assistant solicitor, Board of Trade between 1888 and 1892.2 He was Private Secretary to the President, Board of Trade in 1892.2 He was Secretary to Railway Department between 1892 and 1901.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1893.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1895.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1901.2 He held the office of Permanent Secretary, Board of Trade between 1901 and 1907.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1906.2 He held the office of Permanent Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies between 1907 and 1911.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1908.2 He was Vice-Chairman of the Development Commission between 1911 and 1912.2 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1912.2 He was Additional Lord of the Admiralty between 1912 and 1917.2 He was chairman of the Grand Committee on War Trade between 1914 and 1918.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1916.2 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1917.2 He was created 1st Baron Southborough [U.K.] on 1 November 1917.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1920.2

     Hon. Anne Margaret Morton was born on 14 June 1926.1 She is the daughter of Fergus Dunlop Morton, Baron Morton of Henryton and Margaret Greenlees Begg.1 She married Peter Andrew Hopwood Viney, son of Dr. Arnold Viney and Hon. Frances Pennington Hopwood, on 22 March 1947.1
     From 22 March 1947, her married name became Viney. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County London in 1961.1

     Peter Andrew Hopwood Viney was the son of Dr. Arnold Viney and Hon. Frances Pennington Hopwood.1 He married Hon. Anne Margaret Morton, daughter of Fergus Dunlop Morton, Baron Morton of Henryton and Margaret Greenlees Begg, on 22 March 1947.2 He died on 5 August 2005.3
     He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)2

     He graduated with a Diploma of Public Health (D.P.H.)1 He lived at Melcombe Newton House, Bingham's Melcombe, Dorset, England.2 He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Surgeons (M.R.C.S.)1

     From 18 April 1922, her married name became Viney.
