     He gained the rank of Medical Officer in 1942 in the service of the 1st Airborne Division.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW 1944-1945.1 He was Consultant Physician between 1947 and 1975 at Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London, England.1
